Job title: IBWS Scientific Manager

IBP-New-LogoSince July 2009, GCP has been coordinating the development of the Integrated Breeding Platform (IBP), a one-stop portal providing access to modern tools applications, and services for integrated crop breeding with a focus on breeders in developing countries. A key component of the IBP is the Integrated Breeding Workflow System (IBWS), an informatics platform supporting logistics, data management, analysis and decisions for integrated breeding projects. This initiative is being undertaken in collaboration with a broad range of partners from CGIAR Centres, Universities and country-based programmes.

Moving now to a phase of implementation, we are seeking a dynamic, self-motived individual with a wide range of skills and experience in modern plant breeding, including the use of analytical tools and molecular markers for the position of IBWS Scientific Manager. The incumbent will be responsible primarily for testing the tools of the IBWS and pro-actively working with users to implement the system in their breeding programs and ensure the tools fit their needs. The IBWS Scientific Manager will also contribute to the population of a marker trait association DB with relevant breeding information and be involved in capacity building and support for users of the IBWS.

Job title: Genotyping Support Service Scientist

IBP-New-LogoSince July 2009, GCP has been coordinating the development of the Integrated Breeding Platform (IBP), a one-stop shop providing access to modern tools applications, and services for integrated crop breeding with a focus on breeders in developing countries. This initiative is being undertaken in collaboration with a broad range of partners from CGIAR Centres, Universities and country-based programmes.

One of the capacity-building components of the IBP is the Genotyping Support Service (GSS) that was established to facilitate National Agricultural Research Institutions’ (NARI) access to genotyping technologies, enabling them to access molecular breeding approaches. This service provides financial and technical support for NARI breeders to access diverse cost-efficient genotyping services worldwide. In order to meet the increasing demand of GSS, as part of the implementation phase of the IBP, GCP is currently seeking a motivated scientist to take on responsibilities in the GSS, to help manage and support different molecular breeding projects from developing countries. This Scientist will work together with different core team members of the GCP.

Job title: IBP Communications Officer

Moving into an implementation phase, we are seeking a dynamic, self-motived individual with a wide range of skills and experience in communication and product marketing for the position of IBP Communications Officer. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and managing IBP communications and promotion activities in close collaboration with the IBP Team, key collaborators and external contractors.
