GCP’s Subprogramme 5 invites proposals for its Capacity-Building à la Carte Programme. Following on from the first successful call in 2007, the grant scheme seeks to identify and provide tailored capacity-building to teams working on applied research in developing countries. Winning teams will significantly benefit from short-term personalised training and support.
Winning teams will each develop a customised plan comprising formal training at academic institutions and/or through GCP events; mini-grants for equipment; hands-on research opportunities in advanced research institutions; and in-situ assistance by technical experts.
Eligibility
The programme mainly targets non-GCP Consortium members (e.g. non-profit research programmes in developing countries), particularly those engaged in ongoing GCP projects.

Proposals must clearly address the purpose of this call as outlined in the call for proposals below

Programme funds must be fully dedicated to capacity needs. Any related research activities shall be covered by the associated ongoing project, or by the iteam’s institution (as in-kind contribution, which is proof of commitment to long-term engagement).

The proposal must present evidence of application of GCP research outputs for impact on the selected crop and target region.

• Strength of, and rationale for, the partnership
