GCP Central Registry
.
The GCP Central Registry serves as the main repository for GCP research data sets. It functions as one of the major ways of making GCP data available. GCP scientists can upload data sets to this repository. In principle the only requirement is that these data sets are fully interpretable for an outside user.
Each dataset in the Central Registry provides information on the crop, type of experiment and type of data, accompanied by information on the project title, project code, researcher and research instituition.
To avoid scientists inventing the wheel over and over again, and to promote standardization, GCP Data Submission Templates have been created for different data types. The GCP approved templates are, in general empty Excel spreadsheets complemented by a number of rules on format, guaranteeing the required interpretability.
In case of questions on issues concerning the Central Registry, GCP data templates or GCP data quality, please contact the SP4 helpdesk by sending an email to sp4helpdesk@generationcp.org
To obtain an account at the GCP Central Registry for project registration and for uploading of data sets,
mail sp4helpdesk@generationcp.org or crilservices@cgiar.org.
