GCP molecular marker toolbox

.

With the GCP molecular marker toolbox, newly developed for GCP SP5 by Veerle van Damme in 2009, you can find available molecular markers for marker assisted selection in GPC crops.
The toolbox allows rapid access to currently available and validated markers for the 19 GCP food securtity crops, the GCP mandate crops barley, bean, cassava, chickpea, coconut, cowpea, faba bean, groundnut, lentil, maize, millet, Musa spp., pigeon pea, potato, rice, sorghum, sweet potato, wheat and yam.

The toolbox is a compilation of information available via internet sources, public databases and papers.
Information is divided into general information (name, marker type, trait), the laboratory protocol (primers, PCR conditions), the validation process, and key references for additional information. Search facilities are provided for crop species, trait and marker type.
The current, first version of the toolbox is limited to SSR, STS and SCAR markers. In the future newly available validated markers will be included.
