At this year's Annual Research Meeting (ARM) there will be a workshop on data analysis of microarray data. The workshop will be on Tuesday 11th September and is open for any one registered for the ARM. Please contact Guy Davenport to register and provide your full name, email address and institute details.

The workshop will consist of a mixture of presentations and hands-on tutorials in data management and analysis. If you have any existing microarray data please of your own bring these with you, otherwise example data will be provided. The cost of accommodation for the additional night of 10 September and meals for the 11 September will be covered by the organisers of the workshop. Other costs must be covered by the participants.

The closing date for applications is Friday 3 August.

The proposed agenda is as follows

  1. Introduction to microarray data sets: data extraction, storage, format manipulation (Maxd GCP)
  2. Significance analysis using mixed models (MAANOVA)
  3. Signficance analysis and gene expression profile clustering using the TIGR TM4 suite (MIDAS, MEV)
  4. 2nd order analysis (gene enrichment, pathway visualization) using EASE and MAPMAN
  5. 2nd order analysis using genome structure (differentially expressed gene aggregation and region of correlated expression analysis)
