This job will be at the core of the activities of Subprogramme 1 (SP1) of the CGIAR Generation Challenge Programme (GCP). SP1 focuses on the genetic diversity of main food crops and is led by a CIRAD scientist. The position will involve leading three different but related kinds of activities: 1) data validation and quality control for a large set of genetic diversity analysis projects conducted with molecular markers on 21 GCP crops; 2) global data analysis across those different projects to compare genetic diversity and population structure across crops, and, 3) establishment and implementation, under the supervision of the SP 1 Leader, of a web-based network to manage the distribution, at international level, of genetic resources identified through GCP projects.
- In addition to English, candidates must have a working knowledge of French
- Duration: Initially on a fixed-term two-year contract, with possibility for renewal, subject to performance and availability of funding
- Closing date for applications: 19 November 2008
