Going beyond crop science: evaluating the economic and social aspects of farmers 

To complement scientific crop improvement research, GCP commissioned a series of socio-economic studies. These studies aim to go beyond the crop science and evaluate the economic and social characteristics of developing world farmers in order to best meet their needs.
