Support to Scientists

GCP scientists can get support for their research activities in many ways.
Apart from the bilateral colleaguial contacts, there are a number of helpdesks or the possibility to follow courses or study existing training material.

Several GCP SP4 portals offer information and support as well.
  • the GCP bioinformatics portal, (these pages), presents an overview of software, webservices, data templates and databases, and many other facilities developed within subprogramme 4 of the GCP. Links and information for SP4 software developers are provided as well.

  • Dayhoff was recently setup anew as the as the projected home of the SP2 research workbench, with the orthologue prediction pipeline. The Dayhoff GCP compartive stress gene catalogue site is extended with links to the GreenphylDB and a demo for querying rice germplasm data.

  • McClintock, originally setup as the GCP online bioinformatics course, is now re-designed as the online portal for technical documentation, targeted for crop scientists who need to apply GCP crop informatics tools and methodology. In addition to the original introductory bioinformatics course you can find links to GCP hosted SP4 tutorial workshops, and a layperson's guide to the application and usage of GCP data standards (domain models and ontology).
