The Generation Challenge programme has a subprogram (SP5) devoted entirely to capacity building, so if you are interested in training possibilities have a look at the SP5 website or their excellent 'Capacity Building Corner'.

GCP Online Bioinformatics Course

An very useful GCP Online Crop Bioinformatics Course is given in the GCP McClintock web site. The site describes itself as "the online portal of technical documentation targeted for non-bioinformatics (i.e. non-SP4) scientists who need to apply GCP crop informatics tools and methodology to their work" - so could also be for other reasons interesting to browse through.

In the list below we have tried to compile all GCP-SP4 courses on varies topics, the detailed information about these courses will in many cases give access to relevant material

• Germplasm Data Analysis . This website will provide a framework that can be used to carry out the necessary steps of an association analysis, by providing short introductory texts followed by references to relevant literature and available software.
  
• Candidate gene discovery workshop, on microarray technology, QTL and expression analysis.
  
• IRRI Bioinformatics Workshop for Crop Researchers, 24-28 March 2008, IRRI.
